Apartment move out cleaning is necessary if you plan to transfer into another flat or own a house. Doing the cleaning is not that easy, but these guides are a great help.

Whenever you plan to clean your apartment, work from the top always (ceiling fan, windows, walls) then to the bottom (floors, baseboards, carpet). This strategy permits dust and dirt to fall to the ground as you clean; hence, vacuuming or sweeping will not be your repetitive tasks.

In moving out from your apartment, be mindful of these cleaning guides:

Getting rid of cobwebs from ceiling

You might don't take notice of it throughout your entire rent, yet be mindful of cleaning the ceiling before you move out. Having no cobwebs on your ceiling makes your ceiling more presentable, and well, it isn't always a Halloween, right? Use a vacuum or broom to help pull down cobwebs. If you have popcorn or a cotton candy-like ceiling filled with cobwebs, roll a slightly wet high-nap paint roller over the ceiling to get rid of those cobwebs. This trick won't knock down pieces of the popcorn finish as a broom might.

Checking of the lights

Check the lights if they are still functioning or not. If not, you may tell your landlord to procure or buy a new one. If you know how to put the bulb, do it with care and accuracy. Check any loose wire before you leave.

Checking of smoke detectors

The battery probably needs replacement if your smoke detector is beeping. However, if it's not, you must ensure all smoke alarms have batteries working. Usually, if there's a test button, you can press to indicate or check battery life; a weak or nonexistent signal signifies that it's time for new batteries.

Dusting the blinds

Get an old pair of socks and put one on like a glove. This trick or hack works in getting the dust from the blinds! Try to damp the socks, afterward run your hand across each rung to rid the blinds of dust. This tactic works significantly to clean heaters, too!

Washing the windows

To wash your windows, use a window or a glass cleaner. You must spray the solution onto the window and wipe quickly with a lint-free cloth to avoid streaks. Ensure to dust off the handles, locks, and between the sliding tracks if your windows have them.

Removing any nails and patch walls

The gallery wall looks great while it lasts; however, it's time to patch or fix up your walls. Use paints that have the same color as your wall. To properly apply the product, be sure to use a putty knife.

Cleaning walls and baseboards

To eliminate any dust lingering on your baseboards or trim, use the brush attachment on your vacuum. Get a microfiber cloth and wash the walls using the appropriate cleaner for the paint finish, If you have stains on your walls.

Vacuuming and mopping the floors

You must vacuum and mop the floors thoroughly. This cleaning tactic is done at the last stage, as dust and chemicals most likely fell on the floor while cleaning elsewhere. You must inform family members not to walk on the floor until completely dry and keep pets in another room if there are.

Moving out in an apartment like your home requires cleaning too. Hence, bear in mind that an apartment that stayed for so long needs proper cleaning and care.

No need to worry, you can avail the services of the professional house cleaners. There are different reasons why you need to delegate the cleaning to experts. But what professional cleaners do? They do a lot! They have a professional house cleaning checklist to guide them to achieve your goals that is cleanliness.

The professional house cleaning checklist involves in-depth detailed work. Professional cleaners need to ensure that every part of the house is well-cleaned from top to bottom and left to right. Before cleaning your house they need to have a complete set of cleaning materials like mops, rags, vacuum, scrubbing pads, and cleaning buckets.

These are the itemized checklist that professional cleaners must have to guide them:

Cleaning checklist for kitchen

  • Wipe down cabinets and tabletops.
  • Clean the appliances holistically (microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher).
  • Wipe down the stovetop to remove the grease and the accumulated dirt.
  • Clean the inside of the microwave.
  • Soak stove drip knobs and pans in the sink.
  • Clean the inside and outside of the sink.

If you are already done sweeping, vacuuming, removing the dirt and dust, tidying your closet, fixing the bedsheets and pillows, and arranging the decorations then basically you are done. To sum up, simply, you need to return any furniture (diaper bins, chairs, etc.) that you move to vacuum the floor earlier.

Cleaning checklist for window

  • Use a glass cleaner, be sure that you don’t spray too much, and wipe with newspaper.
  • Be careful if you are cleaning the hard-to-reach window, same procedure but prioritize your safety.
  • Clean window screens by detaching from the frame and scrub it soap (or any cleaning chemicals) mixed with warm water. Scrub the screen with a bristle brush, wash with an outdoor hose, and reattached it back to the window to dry.

These are only the common checklist that professional cleaners have when cleaning your home. Professional House Cleaning Checklist: The Do's and Don'ts For a Cleaner and Safer Home

Professional house cleaning checklist is not just for sequencing what to do, but also to be more cautious or mindful about the do's and don'ts in house cleaning.

Who likes a clean house? All of us dream of having it. If your home is vast enough, then there are arduous tasks to do, especially in cleaning its parts and its entirety, including its vicinity. If you have a small or just an average house, cleaning seems manageable, isn't it?

Well, it really depends on your creative strategy, but you must bear in mind the do's and don'ts of cleaning:

Do's:

  • Keep safety in mind always that before you do any DIY activity, you must have caution, care, and sound judgment - if in doubt, don't do it at all!
  • Do invest in controlling the house lights with a time switch. It's a great way to give the impression that your home is occupied because lights automatically come on at dusk and go out at 10 or 11 pm as desired.
  • Always ensure that doors to garden sheds are locked to prevent unwanted visitors or, worse, criminals from gaining easy access to enter your home or your neighbors.
  • Always fit smoke detectors for safety in your house and keep your family updated and rehearsed with an evacuation plan that you can use in case of fire or emergency.
  • To avoid accidents in the bathroom due to wet soapy tile or porcelain surfaces or slippery floors, use non-skid mats in the tub and shower and on the bathroom floor.
  • Always keep a first aid kit ready at home and clean out the medicine cabinet regularly and safely dispose of expired medicines from time to time.
  • Always use the right tools or equipment to do any work at home. Using inappropriate tools can easily lead to untoward incidents.
  • For safety in the kitchen, clean cutting boards and knives after each use, use disposable cutting boards, and always use a clean dishcloth every day as damp sponges and dishcloths contain millions of germs.
  • Regularly clean your refrigerator and cabinets and throw the foods that are moldy, spoiled, or stale.
  • Always do regular overall cleaning of the house to avoid health issues or problems.

Don'ts:

  • Never leave children unsupervised in a pool. At the time of social gatherings at or near a pool, always appoint a "designated watcher" to protect young children from pool accidents.
  • Don't smoke in bed for your family safety, as smoking in bed is a significant cause of accidental fire deaths in homes. Never place or leave ashtrays on the arms of chairs where they can be knocked off easily.
  • Do not leave any objects on the stairway as anyone can easily trip over objects left on stairs while walking quickly or mainly in an emergency or fire. Always remove all objects from the stairway and try to keep them obstacle-free.
  • Do not fix or keep the heater or other fire sources near the bed. They should be at least three feet away from the bed to prevent a fire mishap.
  • Never place or store pot holders, plastic utensils, towels, and other non-cooking equipment on or near the cooking range because these items can be ignited easily.
  • Never burn anything larger than candles inside your home without providing adequate ventilation, such as opening windows, doors, and fireplace flumes.
  • Never put cigarette stubs that are still burning in the ashtray; always check to see that cigarettes are extinguished before emptying ashtrays as burning stubs can ignite trash easily and cause a fire.
  • Never keep house cleaning products and chemicals with easy accessibility to children and pets.
